Updates follow after the confirmation of a New Zealand COVID-19 case in a returned traveller who tested positive after completing 14 days of hotel quarantine.
With respect to Hospital Visitors Direction (No. 16), this means that anyone who has arrived in Australia from overseas, including New Zealand, in the preceding 14 days is prohibited from visiting unless they fall within a specific category as outlined in the Direction.
A public health alert has also been issued requesting that anyone that has arrived in Queensland from New Zealand from 14 January 2021 immediately be tested for COVID-19, even if asymptomatic, and quarantine a negative result has been received.
