Mackay Private Hospital has now permanently closed, marking the end of our service to the Mackay community. 

While this chapter has come to a close, we remain proud of the care and support provided, and of the lasting impact on the Mackay community.

Closure Notice and Updated Service Timeline

Please be advised that as of 16 June, Mackay Private Hospital is permanently closed and is no longer providing healthcare services.

Friday, 29 May 2026 marked the final day of all hospital-operated clinical services at Mackay Private Hospital.

 Our Patients

We are deeply grateful for the trust our patients and families have placed in us over the years, and it has been an honour to be part of your care.

We understand this may have been an uncertain time, and we want to reassure you that we did everything possible to support our patients through to the final day of service:

  • Patients who were receiving care have been supported through their treatment and discharge planning
  • Our team has worked closely with treating doctors to ensure continuity of care
  • Where ongoing care is required, plans have been put in place to ensure a smooth transition to appropriate alternative services

No patient has been left without a plan.
