Mackay Private Hospital is a Tier 1 provider for the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA). As part of this relationship, the hospital provides a range of services to eligible veterans and war widows, including those listed below.
If you're an eligible veteran or war widow, you won't have any personal expenses for treatment at Mackay Private Hospital and you won't receive an account. You will, however, be charged for calls made to mobile, long distance (STD) and international (ISD) numbers. Local calls are free.
All eligible veterans and war widows are admitted to a single room, however some rooms do have a shared bathroom.
Some veteran patients are eligible to have transport arranged for them through the Department of Veterans' Affairs.
Discharge transport can be organised by our unit staff via the DVA if required.
